Welcome to my Lawn

I’m tickled by the grumpy grandpa phrase “get off my lawn!” It says, yes this is social space, but it’s MY space and I tend it. So I decide who gets to frolic on it. Social media can structure this private-public balance a bit ineptly. A Facebook friend may say something that feels intrusive on your timeline, simply because your view of your lawn is different from theirs. This blog defines its space more clearly. It does not invite mansplaining or beckery, but friendly engagement. Welcome!
